Clementi's EV charging scene has more fast DC options than most drivers realise. Here's where to charge, what to avoid, and what's coming next for this mature HDB town.

Clementi has some of the cheapest EV charging in Singapore — if you know where to look. From $0.629/kWh HDB overnight charging to $0.76/kWh DC fast charging, the gap between smart and expensive choices here is wider than most drivers realise. Here's where to pay less, what to skip, and how to keep your charging costs down in this mature HDB town.
Charge+ operates AC 7.4kW chargers at $0.629/kWh across multiple MSCPs in Clementi. At this price, a 30kWh overnight session costs roughly $18.87 — the cheapest regular charging option in the entire area.
Locations include:
Coverage is extensive — most Clementi residents live within walking distance of at least one Charge+ location. For daily overnight charging, this is your default.
CDGE also has a strong HDB presence, typically at $0.695/kWh for AC 7kW:
At $0.695/kWh, CDGE's HDB AC chargers are about $2 more per 30kWh session than Charge+. For residents whose blocks are served by CDGE, the convenience of walking to your own MSCP may outweigh the modest premium. For those with a choice, Charge+ is the cheaper option.
Most drivers assume Clementi Mall is the only fast-charging game in town. That's incorrect. ComfortDelGro Engie operates four DC fast-charging locations across Clementi, all at $0.76/kWh — undercutting Shell Recharge at the mall.
Ngee Ann Polytechnic (535 Clementi Road): CDGE DC 120kW at $0.76/kWh
This is the fastest public charger in the Clementi area. For a 30kWh session, you're looking at $22.80.
The location is primarily for campus visitors and staff. While publicly accessible, it's at the eastern edge of the Clementi area — not a convenient stop for most residents unless you're already along Clementi Road.
SIM (461 Clementi Road): CDGE DC 100kW at $0.76/kWh
Like Ngee Ann Poly, this serves the educational corridor along Clementi Road and is primarily useful for campus visitors.
Clementi West Street 2 (Block 721): CDGE DC 100kW at $0.76/kWh
This is the westernmost fast-charging option in Clementi, serving the Clementi West estate. For residents in this pocket, it's often more convenient than travelling to Clementi Mall.
Clementi Avenue 3 (Block 449): CDGE DC 100kW at $0.76/kWh
This location serves the central Clementi estate and provides useful redundancy when other CDGE bays are occupied.
The practical reality: Clementi has four DC fast chargers operated by a single provider at a flat $0.76/kWh. Two are at educational institutions (Ngee Ann Poly, SIM) — useful if you're on campus, less so for a dedicated trip. Two are at HDB estates — more accessible for residents. All four undercut Clementi Mall's Shell Recharge on price.
The Clementi Mall at 3155 Commonwealth Avenue West is the most visible charging location in the area, directly linked to Clementi MRT station and bus interchange. Operated by Shell Recharge:
The DC 50kW at $0.77/kWh is slightly more expensive than CDGE's $0.76/kWh options, and half the speed of Ngee Ann Poly's 120kW charger. A 30kWh session costs $23.10.
The AC43 at $0.86/kWh is notably expensive — more costly than the DC option and more than double the price of HDB AC charging. This only makes sense if the DC bay is occupied and you need a longer shopping session.
Clementi Mall works best when you're already at the mall for groceries, dining, or errands. The transport connectivity is excellent, but as a dedicated charging destination, the CDGE network offers better value and comparable or superior speeds.
Beyond the HDB estates, CDGE maintains AC chargers at:
| Location | Address | Operator | Speed | Rate | 30kWh Session |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Charge+ HDB MSCPs | Various | Charge+ | AC 7.4kW | $0.629/kWh | $18.87 |
| CDGE HDB MSCPs | Various | CDGE | AC 7kW | $0.695/kWh | $20.85 |
| SIM (AC) | 461 Clementi Rd | CDGE | AC 22kW | $0.695/kWh | $20.85 |
| Ngee Ann Poly (AC) | 535 Clementi Rd | CDGE | AC 22kW | $0.695/kWh | $20.85 |
| Ngee Ann Polytechnic | 535 Clementi Rd | CDGE | DC 120kW | $0.76/kWh | $22.80 |
| SIM | 461 Clementi Rd | CDGE | DC 100kW | $0.76/kWh | $22.80 |
| Clementi West St 2 | 721 Clementi West St 2 | CDGE | DC 100kW | $0.76/kWh | $22.80 |
| Clementi Ave 3 | 449 Clementi Ave 3 | CDGE | DC 100kW | $0.76/kWh | $22.80 |
| Clementi Mall | 3155 Commonwealth Ave West | Shell | DC 50kW | $0.77/kWh | $23.10 |
| Clementi Mall (AC) | 3155 Commonwealth Ave West | Shell | AC 43kW | $0.86/kWh | $25.80 |
Note: AC chargers are optimal for overnight or extended-stay charging; DC chargers are for on-the-go fast charging. Speeds and rates are not directly comparable across categories.
The Land Transport Authority has identified Blocks 358–360, 362–363, and 366–367 along Clementi Avenue 2 as the site for a new Shell fast-charging hub, part of the initiative to install at least one fast-charging facility in every HDB town by end-2027.
These hubs are designed to offer at least six 50kW DC charging points per location. For Clementi, this represents a significant upgrade from the current four CDGE DC chargers and one Shell DC bay. Current projections put the first batch operational by early 2027.

What to avoid:
Clementi's charging landscape rewards residents who plan ahead. At $0.629/kWh, Charge+ HDB overnight charging is the cheapest regular option in the area. For fast charging, CDGE's four DC locations at $0.76/kWh undercut Clementi Mall while matching or exceeding its speed.
The gap between cheapest and most expensive here is $0.231/kWh — on a 30kWh charge, that's the difference between $18.87 and $25.80. Over a year of regular charging, that adds up to real money. In Clementi, knowing your options isn't just useful — it's profitable.
