Bedok has cheaper EV charging than most drivers realise — from $0.50/kWh AC to $0.65/kWh DC. Here's where to charge for less, and what to avoid.

Bedok is one of Singapore's biggest residential towns, but its EV charging story doesn't follow the usual pattern. There is no single mega-hub like Great World City, no IKEA-style loss-leader, and Bedok Mall still has no public chargers. What Bedok does have is a scattering of genuinely cheap options — if you know where to look. From $0.50/kWh AC to $0.65/kWh DC, the bargains are there. The problem is they're mixed in with overpriced alternatives that cost 70% more for the same electrons. Here's the full picture.
The best-value AC charging in the Bedok catchment isn't at a mall or community centre. It's at two condominium developments operated by Novowatt.
The Tanamera at 7 Tanah Merah Kechil Road offers Novowatt AC 22kW at $0.50/kWh — the cheapest AC rate in the dataset for this area. However, this is a private residential condominium, and access is typically restricted to residents and their guests. Non-residents generally cannot drive up and use the charger. The rate is compelling if you live there or are visiting a resident, but it's not a public charging option in the usual sense.
Roxy Square at 50 East Coast Road offers Novowatt AC 22kW at $0.58/kWh — slightly more expensive than The Tanamera, but still 17% cheaper than the next tier of AC options. A 30kWh session costs $17.40. This is a retail development near Katong with shops and food options.
Both locations use the Novowatt app for payment. Neither is a destination you'll spend hours at, but at these rates, the savings are significant compared to charging at SP Mobility locations nearby.
If you want fast DC charging at a price that undercuts most AC options, HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir at 900 Bedok North Road is the answer.
Eigen Energy operates DC 120kW charging at $0.65/kWh here — the cheapest DC fast charging in the entire Bedok and Tanah Merah area. A 30kWh session costs $19.50, which is cheaper than SP Mobility's AC 22kW at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal ($0.719/kWh) and significantly cheaper than any other DC option nearby.
This is a clubhouse facility with a swimming pool, gym, and F&B outlets. You don't need to be a member to use the charger — it's publicly accessible. The combination of $0.65/kWh DC, 120kW speed, and actual amenities makes this one of the best-value charging stops in eastern Singapore.
For drivers who need DC speed and can't get to HomeTeamNS, Charge+ operates three locations in the Bedok catchment at $0.728/kWh for DC — all cheaper than CDGE, SP Mobility, and Shell.
Kampong Siglap at 10 La Salle Street offers Charge+ DC 160kW at $0.728/kWh. This is the fastest and cheapest DC charger in the area after HomeTeamNS. At 160kW, it outperforms most other public DC chargers in Bedok. A 30kWh session costs $21.84. The location is near Siglap Road — functional, not a destination.
Changi City Point at 5 Changi Business Park Central 1 offers Charge+ DC 120kW at $0.728/kWh. This is a proper retail mall with shopping, dining, and cinema — a genuine destination where you can charge while doing other things. For east-side drivers, this is the best balance of speed, price, and amenities.
Mandarin Gardens at 5 Siglap Road offers Charge+ DC 120kW at $0.728/kWh. This is a private residential condominium — access is typically restricted to residents and their guests, not the general public.
ComfortDelGro Engie (CDGE) has a strong presence across the Bedok area, typically at $0.695/kWh for AC 7.4–22kW and $0.78/kWh for DC 120kW. These aren't the cheapest rates, but CDGE locations often come with genuine amenities that justify the modest premium.
East Coast Park has three CDGE AC 22kW chargers along the parkway at $0.695/kWh — perfect for a morning cycle or beach visit. Parkland Green at 920 East Coast Parkway and three other park locations offer the same rate.
Bedok Public Library at 11 Bedok North Street 1 operates CDGE AC 22kW at $0.695/kWh. Charge while reading or using the library's facilities.
JTC Bedok Food City at 1550 Bedok North Avenue 4 and Eastech at 3016 Bedok North Avenue 4 both offer CDGE AC 11kW at $0.695/kWh — industrial locations with no amenities, but the rate is competitive.
Citibank Esso East Coast at 255 East Coast Road and Esso Upper East Coast at 251 Upper East Coast Road both offer CDGE DC 120kW at $0.780/kWh. These are petrol station locations — not destinations, but convenient for a quick top-up.
Bedok's HDB estate charging is extensive, with three operators covering virtually every block.
Strides YTL at $0.678/kWh (AC 7–7.4kW) is the cheapest overnight option, with one standout: Blk 211/218 New Upper Changi Road offers Strides YTL AC 7.4kW at $0.668/kWh — slightly below the standard rate. Coverage includes Blk 107, 119, 122, 130, 154, 184, 201, 204, 210, 216, 220, 402, 414, 420, 431, 504, 519, 528, 537, 540, 611, 617, 714, 716, 739, 74, 761A, 765A, 80, 84, 94A, 98, and dozens more across Bedok North, Bedok Reservoir, and Bedok South.
CDGE at $0.695/kWh (AC 7.4kW) serves blocks including 114A Bedok North Street 2, 187 Bedok North Street 4, 219 Bedok Central, 2A Bedok South Avenue 1, 19A Bedok South Road, 492A Tampines Street 45, and 494F Tampines Street 43.
SP Mobility at $0.698/kWh (AC 3.7–7.4kW) has the widest coverage, with chargers at over 60 blocks across Bedok. The slight premium over Strides YTL ($0.678) works out to about $0.60 more per 30kWh session.
At roughly $20.00–$20.95 for a 30kWh overnight session, the difference between cheapest and most expensive HDB AC is under $1.50. Check your block's operator, but don't stress about it.
Beyond the cheap options, Bedok has a full range of DC fast chargers. Here's how they stack up.
$0.65–$0.728/kWh — the value tier:
$0.76–$0.78/kWh — the middle tier:
$0.80–$0.89/kWh — the premium tier:
At $0.861/kWh, a 30kWh session costs $25.83 — 33% more than Charge+ at $0.728/kWh. For routine charging, the value tier is the obvious choice.

Note: AC chargers are optimal for overnight or extended-stay charging; DC chargers are for on-the-go fast charging. Speeds and rates are not directly comparable across categories.

What to avoid:
For HDB residents:
Bedok's charging landscape is fragmented but rewarding if you know where to look. The Tanamera at $0.50/kWh is the cheapest AC in the east. HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir at $0.65/kWh DC is the best-value fast charging in the area — faster and cheaper than most AC options elsewhere. Charge+ at Changi City Point and Kampong Siglap at $0.728/kWh fills the DC gap.
The gap between cheapest (The Tanamera at $0.50/kWh) and most expensive (Shell at $0.89/kWh) is $0.39/kWh. On a 50kWh charge, that's $25.00 versus $44.50. Bedok doesn't have a single mega-hub, but it has enough cheap options scattered around that savvy drivers can keep their costs low.
For residents, the HDB estate networks handle overnight charging. The Novowatt locations at The Tanamera and Roxy Square handle cheap AC top-ups. HomeTeamNS and Charge+ handle fast DC. The premium options at SP Mobility and Shell are there if you need them, but with HomeTeamNS at $0.65/kWh, you rarely will.
