How the rate compares

Lowest listed rate in Singapore: S$0.34 per kWh, at the Schneider Electric Building on Kallang Avenue. Those chargers are for the staff who work there, not the public, and the revolt.sg charger map marks them "Restricted access".

Cheapest open to the public: S$0.43 per kWh, on a 7.4kW AC point run by Eneready at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road (postal code 139658).

The median public rate: S$0.70 per kWh for AC. Charge+'s rate here is below it.

When it is busy

IKEA Alexandra's three plugs are very tight across the charging hours, from 10am to 10pm, on weekdays and at weekends.

What the ratings mean:

  • Freely available: almost always a plug available.
  • Moderate: now and then, no plug was available.
  • Tight: at times, no plug was available.
  • Very tight: often, no plug was available.

So drivers should check live availability on the revolt.sg charger map before they go.

Parking

IKEA Alexandra charges cars the rates below, and does not say whether they include GST. The revolt.sg charger map shows IKEA Alexandra's parking charges too.

  • Every day, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: S$0.06 a minute, or S$3.60 an hour.
  • With a same-day IKEA receipt: the first 3 hours at no charge. Drivers should scan the receipt at the car park gantry before they leave.
  • Overnight: not allowed. Cars left overnight are wheel clamped.

What a typical charge costs here

Take a 22kWh top-up on a Charge+ 22kW AC plug, in a car that takes up to 11kW on AC. Drivers should check what their own car takes.

  • Time: about 2 hours at 11kW. To finish by 10pm, when charging closes, start by 8pm.
  • Charge: S$9.90, at S$0.45 per kWh.
  • Parking: S$7.20 for the 2 hours, or no charge with a same-day IKEA receipt, which covers the first 3 hours. The revolt.sg charger map also shows IKEA Alexandra's parking charges.
  • Total: S$17.10, about S$0.78 per kWh. With a same-day IKEA receipt, it is S$9.90.
  • In a car that takes the full 22kW: about 1 hour, so S$13.50 with parking.
