How the rates compare

Lowest listed rate in Singapore: S$0.34 per kWh, at the Schneider Electric Building on Kallang Avenue. Those chargers are for the staff who work there, not the public, and the revolt.sg charger map marks them "Restricted access".

Cheapest confirmed open to the public: S$0.43 per kWh, on a 7.4kW AC point run by Eneready at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road (postal code 139658).

Cheapest fast DC confirmed open to the public: S$0.50 per kWh for 50kW or more, on a 180kW ultra-fast unit at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road.

The median public rate: S$0.70 per kWh for AC and S$0.80 for fast DC (50kW to 150kW). Charge+'s AC and DC rates here are below both.

Cheapest in each area: the Singapore EV Charging Price Index lists the cheapest public chargers in each part of the island.

Parking

Giant Tampines' car park does not charge for parking, on any day and at any hour. The revolt.sg charger map shows Giant Tampines' parking charges too.

What a typical charge costs here

Take a 30kWh top-up on one of Charge+'s 120kW DC plugs, in a car that averages 60kW on DC. Drivers should check what their own car takes.

  • Time: about 30 minutes at 60kW.
  • Charge: about S$23, at about S$0.75 per kWh.
  • Parking: nothing extra, as the car park does not charge for parking. The revolt.sg charger map also shows Giant Tampines' parking charges.
  • Total: about S$23, the same as the charge.
  • On Charge+'s 7.4kW AC plugs: the same 30kWh costs about S$19, at about S$0.65 per kWh, with no parking to add, but it takes about 4 hours 3 minutes in a car that takes 7.4kW or more on AC.
