How the rates compare

Lowest listed rate in Singapore: S$0.34 per kWh, at the Schneider Electric Building on Kallang Avenue. Those chargers are for the staff who work there, not the public, and the revolt.sg charger map marks them "Restricted access".

Cheapest confirmed open to the public: S$0.43 per kWh, on a 7.4kW AC point run by Eneready at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road (postal code 139658).

Lowest listed DC rate: S$0.39 per kWh, on a 30kW unit at Millage on Changi Road.

Cheapest fast DC confirmed open to the public: S$0.50 per kWh for 50kW or more, on a 180kW ultra-fast unit at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road.

The median public rate: S$0.70 per kWh for AC and S$0.80 for fast DC (50kW to 150kW). Volt's S$0.67 for AC here is below the AC median, and its S$0.75 for DC is below the fast DC median, though its DC plugs run at 30kW, below the 50kW where fast DC starts.

Cheapest in each area: the Singapore EV Charging Price Index lists the cheapest public chargers in each part of the island.

What a typical charge costs here

Take a 30kWh top-up on a Volt 22kW AC plug, in a car that arrives at 10am and takes up to 11kW on AC. Drivers should check what their own car takes.

  • Time: about 2 hours 44 minutes at 11kW.
  • Charge: about S$20, at S$0.67 per kWh.
  • Parking: S$1.75 for the first hour plus 7 × S$0.44, so S$4.83, on any day. The revolt.sg charger map also shows Parkway Parade's parking charges.
  • Total: about S$25, or about S$0.83 per kWh.
  • Arriving after 6pm: the same charge costs about S$24 in all, or about S$0.79 per kWh, as parking is then S$3.49 per entry.
  • On a Volt 30kW DC plug: about an hour at 30kW, and the charge alone would cost about S$23, at about S$0.75 per kWh.
