As of 16 October 2026, electric vehicle (EV) charging at Suntec City costs S$0.78 per kWh on Shell Recharge's 22kW AC plugs and its 50kW DC plug, and S$0.87 per kWh on its 43kW AC plug and 190kW DC plugs.
For a fast charge, the DC plugs are the better choice, with ten plugs at 190kW.
Chargers at Suntec City
Shell Recharge runs 17 AC plugs, 16 at 22kW and one at 43kW, and 11 DC plugs, ten at 190kW and one at 50kW.
The plugs are in the Green, Orange and Red zones on Basement 1 and Basement 2.
| Operator | Plugs | S$ per kWh | Open to the public? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shell Recharge | 16 AC, 22kW, Type 2 | S$0.78 | Yes, a public mall car park |
| Shell Recharge | 1 AC, 43kW, Type 2 | S$0.87 | Yes, a public mall car park |
| Shell Recharge | 1 DC, 50kW, Combo 2 (CCS2) | S$0.78 | Yes, a public mall car park |
| Shell Recharge | 10 DC, 190kW, Combo 2 (CCS2) | S$0.87 | Yes, a public mall car park |
The 50kW DC plug: it costs the same as the 22kW AC plugs, so it is the cheapest quick charge here.
The 43kW AC plug: it costs S$0.09 more per kWh than the 22kW ones. But a car that takes 11 or 22kW on AC charges no faster on it.
Charging speed: the 190kW figure is the charger's maximum. A car charges only as fast as it can take.
How the rates compare
Lowest listed rate in Singapore: S$0.34 per kWh, at the Schneider Electric Building on Kallang Avenue. Those chargers are for the staff who work there, not the public, and the revolt.sg charger map marks them "Restricted access".
Cheapest open to the public: S$0.43 per kWh, on a 7.4kW AC point run by Eneready at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road (postal code 139658).
Lowest listed DC rate: S$0.39 per kWh, on a 30kW unit at Millage on Changi Road. The revolt.sg charger map marks it "Possibly restricted", because visitor access is not confirmed.
Cheapest fast DC open to the public: S$0.50 per kWh, on a 180kW ultra-fast unit at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road. Fast DC means 50kW or more.
The median public rate: S$0.70 per kWh for AC, S$0.81 for fast DC (50kW to 150kW) and S$0.79 for ultra-fast DC (above 150kW). Shell's S$0.78 for 22kW AC here is above the AC median, its S$0.78 for the 50kW DC plug is below the fast DC median, and its S$0.87 for 190kW DC is above the ultra-fast DC median.
Cheapest in each area: the Singapore EV Charging Price Index lists the cheapest public chargers in each part of the island.
When it is busy
Shell Recharge's plugs are freely available at all hours, on weekdays and at weekends.
Even at its busiest, at least two of its 11 DC plugs were available.
At weekday lunchtime, there were rare moments when no AC plug was available.
What the ratings mean:
- Freely available: almost always a plug available.
- Moderate: now and then, no plug was available.
- Tight: at times, no plug was available.
- Very tight: often, no plug was available.
So for an AC charge at weekday lunchtime, drivers should check the revolt.sg charger map for an available plug before they go.
Paying and idle fees
| Operator | App | Pay without the app? | Idle fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shell Recharge | Shell Recharge Asia app, with a linked credit card | No. RFID cards stopped working on 30 September 2026, except fleet Hybrid Cards. | S$0.50 a minute at any hour, from 30 minutes after charging ends, capped at S$40 a session. |
Suntec City is not a Shell station, an HDB car park or a condominium, so under Shell's rules the 30-minute grace period applies here.
Drivers should check "Price Details" in the Shell Recharge Asia app before they start a charge, to see whether idle fees apply.
Every operator's rules are in the revolt.sg public charging guide.
