Great Charge: its bays are on Basement 3 and 3A, and the nearest way into the mall from them is the B3 Office Lobby East and West lifts.

SP Mobility: its four plugs are on Basement 2.

Charging speed: the 480kW figure is the charger's maximum. A car charges only as fast as it can take.

How the rates compare

Lowest listed rate in Singapore: S$0.34 per kWh, at the Schneider Electric Building on Kallang Avenue. Those chargers are for the staff who work there, not the public, and the revolt.sg charger map marks them "Restricted access".

Cheapest open to the public: S$0.43 per kWh, on a 7.4kW AC point run by Eneready at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates' Guild on Dover Road (postal code 139658).

The median public rate: S$0.70 per kWh for AC, S$0.81 for fast DC (50kW to 150kW) and S$0.79 for ultra-fast DC (above 150kW). Great Charge's AC rate here is below the AC median, and its DC rate is below both DC medians.

When it is busy

Great Charge's plugs are freely available at all hours, on weekdays and at weekends.

Even at its busiest, at least five of its 18 AC plugs and seven of its 28 DC plugs were available.

SP Mobility has only two AC and two DC plugs here, and they get very tight at lunch and in the evening.

Parking

Great World charges cars the rates below, before GST. The revolt.sg charger map shows Great World's parking charges too.

  • Monday to Friday, 6.01am to 5pm: S$1.80 for the first hour, then S$0.90 for every 30 minutes after that.

What a typical charge costs here

Take a 30kWh top-up on a Great Charge 22kW AC plug, in a car that arrives at 10am on a weekday and takes up to 11kW on AC. Drivers should check what their own car takes.

  • Time: about 2 hours 44 minutes at 11kW.
  • Charge: S$16.35, at about S$0.55 per kWh.
  • Parking: S$1.80 for the first hour plus 4 × S$0.90, so S$5.89 with 9 per cent GST. It is the same at weekends, as it stays under the S$6 cap. The revolt.sg charger map also shows Great World's parking charges.
  • Total: S$22.24, about S$0.74 per kWh.
  • On SP Mobility's AC plugs: the charge alone would cost S$24.21, at about S$0.81 per kWh.
