The AVATR 07 is poised to make a notable entrance into Singapore’s premium electric SUV market, offering a fresh alternative to the established European and American marques. With its powerful performance and advanced technology, the model broadens the choices available to local buyers seeking high-performance electric vehicles.
Performance and Variants
Singaporean consumers will have access to two variants of the AVATR 07. The flagship model is the dual-motor All-Wheel Drive ‘Ultra,’ which delivers an impressive 440kW (590bhp) and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. This version is equipped with an advanced air suspension system complemented by Continuous Damping Control, designed to provide a balance of sharp handling and comfort suitable for Singapore’s varied road conditions.
For those prioritising efficiency, the single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive ‘Max’ offers 252kW (338bhp) and a 0-100km/h time of 6.8 seconds. It is expected to qualify for a Category A Certificate of Entitlement (COE), making it a more accessible entry point into the AVATR range, pending final approval from the Land Transport Authority.
Battery and Charging Technology
Both variants utilise an 800-volt electrical architecture paired with an 82.16kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL. This combination supports rapid charging, with AVATR claiming the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in as little as 10 minutes when connected to high-power chargers such as SP Group’s new 480kW units. The WLTP-estimated driving ranges are 488km for the ‘Max’ and 463km for the ‘Ultra.’
Interior and Features
Inside, the AVATR 07 emphasises a blend of technology and luxury. The cabin features a striking 35.4-inch 4K panoramic dashboard display alongside a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen running Huawei’s HarmonyOS. Comfort is enhanced with premium touches such as ventilated, massaging front seats, underscoring the vehicle’s upscale positioning.
Warranty and Market Prospects
Early buyers will benefit from a comprehensive warranty package that includes 10 years or 200,000km for the battery, 8 years or 160,000km for the drivetrain, and 5 years or 120,000km for the vehicle. Pricing and official launch details are expected to be announced closer to the car’s availability in the local market.
Implications for Singapore’s EV Landscape
The AVATR 07’s arrival represents a significant development in Singapore’s electric vehicle landscape, particularly within the luxury SUV segment, which has traditionally been dominated by European brands. Its combination of high power output, rapid charging capabilities, and sophisticated suspension technology positions it not merely as a competitor but as a distinctive option for discerning buyers.
The adoption of an 800V platform alongside CATL’s LFP battery technology highlights a focus on both performance and battery durability, attributes that are likely to appeal to Singaporean motorists mindful of long-term costs and reliability. The ability to recharge quickly complements ongoing upgrades to local EV infrastructure, enhancing the practicality of longer journeys.
Backed by reputable partners such as Changan, Huawei, and CATL, AVATR brings credible technical expertise to the market. As the number of premium electric vehicles grows in Singapore, increased competition is expected to spur innovation and potentially more competitive pricing, to the benefit of consumers. For a city-state committed to accelerating EV adoption, the AVATR 07 could well set a new benchmark in both choice and performance standards.
