Singapore's National Stadium sits in one of the worst areas for EV charging. But just up the road on Bendemeer, the best-value DC fast charger in the corridor is hiding in plain sight. Here's the complete charging guide for Kallang, Stadium, Lavender and Bendemeer.
Kiat Goh

You'd think the Singapore Sports Hub — a billion-dollar national landmark drawing crowds for football, concerts and swimming — would have solid EV charging. It doesn't. Kallang Wave Mall offers exactly one type of public charger: SP Mobility AC 7.4kW at $0.774/kWh. For a venue this prominent, that's genuinely poor.
But the Kallang-Stadium-Lavender-Bendemeer corridor isn't a charging wasteland. You just have to know where to look. The best value DC fast charging sits not at the stadium but on an unassuming stretch of Bendemeer Road. The cheapest AC charging hides in an industrial building on Kallang Pudding Road. And several hotels along Jalan Sultan and Beach Road quietly offer rates that undercut most mall carparks.
Here's the full picture.
Kallang Wave Mall at 1 Stadium Place operates SP Mobility AC 7.4kW at $0.774/kWh. That's it. No DC. No faster AC. Just one speed tier, at a rate 48% higher than what you'd pay at the cheapest AC charger three kilometres away. A 30kWh session here costs $23.22 — roughly the price of a decent meal at the mall's food court.
The OCBC Aquatic Centre at 7 Stadium Drive has SP Mobility AC 22kW at $0.774/kWh — same rate, faster speed, but it's in a sports facility carpark. You're not doing your weekly shop here.
If you're heading to a concert, a football match, or a swimming meet, charge somewhere else first. Kallang Wave Mall is a top-up-at-best location, not a charging destination.
Trion at 17 Kallang Junction, a new mixed-use development overlooking the Kallang River, operates SP Mobility DC 200kW at $0.807/kWh. It's the fastest public DC charger in the entire corridor — 200kW is serious hardware — but at $0.807/kWh you're paying a heavy premium for that speed. A 40kWh session costs $32.28. If speed is non-negotiable and you're already in the Kallang Basin, it's here. But you're paying roughly 22% more per kilowatt-hour than the corridor's best DC option.
Here's the charger that makes the Kallang-Bendemeer corridor genuinely interesting.
BS Bendemeer Centre at 20 Bendemeer Road operates EV Mobility DC 120kW at $0.659/kWh — the cheapest DC fast charging in the entire area. A 40kWh session costs $26.36. That's $5.92 less than the same charge at Trion, and it's $2.76 cheaper than the Charge+ DC chargers scattered through the area at $0.728/kWh.
BS Bendemeer Centre is a mixed commercial building — not a shopping mall, not a lifestyle destination. There's a coffee shop and basic retail at ground level. You're here to charge, not to browse. But at $0.659/kWh for 120kW DC, that's a trade-off worth making. The practical reality: plug in, grab a kopi, and you'll have meaningful range before you finish your drink.
This is the charger to plan your trips around. If you're driving through the Kallang-Bendemeer corridor and need DC speed, make this your default stop.
The industrial stretch along Kallang Avenue and Kallang Pudding Road doesn't look like prime EV territory. But it quietly hosts some of the corridor's best-value AC charging.
Hor Kew Business Centre at 66 Kallang Pudding Road operates Charge+ AC 22kW at $0.535/kWh — the cheapest public AC charging in the corridor. A 30kWh session costs $16.05, which undercuts Kallang Wave Mall's AC rate by 31%. This is an industrial building with no real amenities, but if you're parking for a few hours in the Kallang Pudding area, this is the plug to use.
CT Hub at 2 Kallang Avenue operates EV Mobility AC 22kW at $0.598/kWh. CT Hub is a mixed-use building with F&B outlets on the ground floor — more pleasant than a pure industrial stop. At $0.598/kWh it's not the absolute cheapest AC in the area, but it's still $0.176/kWh cheaper than the Sports Hub and there are places to sit.
Extra Space Kallang at 12 Kallang Sector operates Charge+ DC 120kW at $0.728/kWh — the same rate as most Charge+ DC chargers around the island. It's in a self-storage facility, so amenities are zero, but it adds another DC 120kW option to the corridor's inventory. If BS Bendemeer Centre is occupied, this is your next-closest alternative on the eastern side.
Aperia at 12 Kallang Avenue operates SP Mobility AC 43kW at $0.774/kWh. The 43kW AC speed is unusual and genuinely useful — faster than standard 22kW — but at $0.774/kWh it's still SP Mobility pricing. Use it if you're at Aperia Mall and need faster-than-22kW AC, not as a deliberate charging stop.
Lavender Street and the Jalan Besar area form a mid-tier charging corridor with several options clustered between $0.55/kWh and $0.74/kWh.
V Hotel Lavender at 70 Jellicoe Road operates Volt Singapore AC 22kW at $0.550/kWh — the cheapest hotel-based AC charging in the corridor. At $0.550/kWh, a 30kWh session costs $16.50. The hotel has a lobby lounge and is a short walk from Lavender MRT and the surrounding kopitiams. This is a solid overnight or long-parking option if you're staying in the area.
CT Hub 2 at 114 Lavender Street operates Charge+ DC 30kW at $0.728/kWh. At only 30kW, this isn't fast — it's the slowest DC charger in the corridor. But if you need DC charging in the Lavender area specifically and don't want to drive to Bendemeer or Kallang Sector, it's here. The building has ground-floor eateries for the wait.
Jalan Besar Plaza at 101 Kitchener Road operates Volt Singapore DC 60kW at $0.740/kWh. At $0.740/kWh, it's priced between the Charge+ DC standard ($0.728/kWh) and the premium SP Mobility tier. The plaza has a mix of retail and food stalls. At 60kW, you're looking at roughly 45–60 minutes for a meaningful charge — longer than the area's 120kW options.
Penhas Road / Fragrance Hotel Lavender at 51 Lavender Street operates ComfortDelGro Engie AC 22kW at $0.695/kWh. Standard CDG Engie rates, standard CDG Engie experience — reliable but unremarkable. There's a hotel lobby if you need somewhere to wait.
Beyond BS Bendemeer Centre, the Bendemeer-Boon Keng HDB belt has several chargers serving the residential population.
Luzerne at 70 Bendemeer Road operates Charge+ DC 120kW at $0.728/kWh — adding a second DC 120kW option on Bendemeer Road, roughly 400 metres from BS Bendemeer Centre. This is useful redundancy: if BS Bendemeer Centre's bays are occupied, Luzerne is a short drive away. The building is mixed commercial-residential.
Extra Space Boon Keng at 301 Boon Keng Road operates Charge+ DC 120kW at $0.728/kWh. Same self-storage situation as Extra Space Kallang — no amenities, pure utility. But it's a third DC 120kW option within a one-kilometre radius of Bendemeer, which gives this corridor surprisingly good DC density.
Work+ Store Spaze at 202 Kallang Bahru operates ComfortDelGro Engie DC 120kW at $0.760/kWh. At $0.760/kWh it's pricier than the Charge+ DC options but cheaper than SP Mobility. The building is an office-coworking hybrid. For Kallang Bahru residents, this is the closest DC option without driving to Bendemeer.
Geylang West Community Club at 1205 Upper Boon Keng Road operates ComfortDelGro Engie AC 22kW at $0.695/kWh. Standard HDB-area rates — fine for locals topping up overnight.
For residents, the HDB MSCP network across the Kallang-Bendemeer estate provides the usual range of Charge+, Strides YTL, and CDG Engie AC chargers at network-standard rates ($0.55–$0.70/kWh). If you live here, your nearest MSCP is almost certainly the cheapest AC option.
The Beach Road-Bugis corridor sits at the southern edge of our area, bordering the CBD. Several options here are worth knowing about.
Golden Sultan Plaza at 100 Jalan Sultan operates MNL Solutions AC 22kW at $0.534/kWh — technically the cheapest AC per-kWh rate in the entire area, just edging out Hor Kew Business Centre by a fraction of a cent. The building is an older retail complex on Jalan Sultan. At $0.534/kWh, a 30kWh session costs $16.02.
Kallang Riverside at 51 Kampong Bugis operates MNL Solutions AC 22kW at $0.545/kWh. This is a newer condominium development along the Kallang River. The rate is competitive for the area, but access may be restricted — check before relying on it.
Hotel Boss at 500 Jalan Sultan operates Volt Singapore AC 22kW at $0.575/kWh. A hotel on the Jalan Sultan stretch, with a lobby and nearby eateries. At $0.575/kWh it's a solid mid-tier AC option — cheaper than the SP Mobility network and with somewhere comfortable to wait.
City Gate at 371 Beach Road operates Novowatt AC 22kW at $0.630/kWh. The building is a mixed-use complex with retail. At $0.630/kWh it's in the middle of the pack — cheaper than SP Mobility, pricier than the hotel options.
Mercure Singapore Bugis at 122 Middle Road operates Charge+ AC 22kW at $0.629/kWh. Standard Charge+ AC network rates, hotel amenities.
City Square Mall at 180 Kitchener Road operates Shell Recharge DC 120kW at $0.860/kWh. This is the most expensive DC charger in the area — Shell's premium pricing, same as their petrol-station chargers. A 40kWh session costs $34.40, or $8.04 more than BS Bendemeer Centre. City Square Mall is a pleasant shopping destination with a cinema and F&B, but at $0.860/kWh, charge elsewhere unless you're absolutely stuck.
Connexion at 1 Farrer Park Station Road operates SP Mobility DC 50kW at $0.807/kWh. At only 50kW and $0.807/kWh, this offers the worst of both worlds — slow AND expensive. It's in a medical complex connected to Farrer Park Hospital. Use only in genuine emergencies.

Note: AC and DC chargers serve different use cases. AC is for overnight or extended stays; DC is for on-the-go fast charging. Rates across categories are not directly comparable.
Plan around BS Bendemeer Centre for DC: At $0.659/kWh for 120kW, it's the corridor's best value-speed combination. Grab a kopi from the ground-floor coffee shop while you charge.
Avoid Kallang Wave Mall as a charging destination: SP Mobility AC 7.4kW at $0.774/kWh is poor value. If you're at the Sports Hub for an event, charge beforehand. The closest good option is BS Bendemeer Centre, roughly a five-minute drive away.
For AC, go industrial: Hor Kew Business Centre at $0.535/kWh and CT Hub at $0.598/kWh in the Kallang Avenue-Pudding Road belt offer better rates than any mall or hotel. If you're parking for a few hours in this area, these are your best plugs.
On Jalan Sultan, pick your hotel: V Hotel Lavender at $0.550/kWh edges out Hotel Boss at $0.575/kWh, and both beat the SP Mobility network. Golden Sultan Plaza at $0.534/kWh is the cheapest in the area but is an older building with fewer amenities.
Avoid Connexion and City Square Mall for DC: Connexion charges SP Mobility rates for just 50kW. City Square Mall charges Shell's premium $0.860/kWh — the most expensive DC in the corridor. Neither is worth the money.
Bendemeer has DC density: BS Bendemeer Centre, Luzerne, and Extra Space Boon Keng form a triangle of DC 120kW options within a one-kilometre radius. If one is occupied (each typically has limited bays), another is nearby. This is unusually good DC density for an HDB-centric area.
The Kallang-Stadium-Lavender-Bendemeer corridor is defined by its contrasts. The most prominent location — the Sports Hub — has the worst charging. The best value DC fast charger hides in an unassuming commercial building on Bendemeer Road. And the cheapest AC charging sits in an industrial estate.
BS Bendemeer Centre at $0.659/kWh DC is the corridor's standout. If you remember one charger from this guide, make it this one. For AC charging, head to Hor Kew Business Centre at $0.535/kWh or the Jalan Sultan hotels at $0.534–$0.575/kWh. For raw speed, Trion's 200kW DC is the fastest in the corridor — but you'll pay SP Mobility pricing for the privilege.
The corridor isn't a charging destination in itself. But if you live, work or regularly pass through Kallang, Bendemeer, Lavender or the Sports Hub precinct, knowing where to plug in — and more importantly, where NOT to — will save you real money over time.
